Custom Sensor Systems
Sensors are everywhere, used for many different purposes and to measure different things. At home we have smoke alarms with smoke sensors; in the car we have an enormous amount of sensors like temperature sensor, speedometer, sometimes tire-pressure monitoring sensors; at work we have air conditioning and heating with a temperature sensor. As a minimum, sensors can significantly improve automation and processes if configured properly.

As we are right at the beginning of the 4th Industrial Revolution, sensors are becoming more and more powerful and accurate, and it is much more common to have a range of sensors connected to large monitoring systems.
Here at Freelance Robotics, we often build many types of projects with sensors, such as vibration sensors, light sensors, proximity sensors and magnetometers. We often install several types of sensors within a project to take a large amount of data. An example of this is the Roughometer. The Roughometer has sensors working together, with the data being streamed to software on a tablet to analyse those results.
Some of the sensors found in the Roughometer are:
- Gyroscope
- Accelerometer
- Gravitometer
