We developed and have constructed the Roughometer to provide:

  • Orientation position and rate in Roll, Pitch and Yaw
  • Accurate position in DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) or RTK (Real Time Kinematic) positioning
  • Acceleration and velocity
  • Distance travelled
  • Dead Reckoning Mode for position data even when in a covered area
      

The Roughometer consists of items such as accelerometers, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, DGPS, a tablet to display and store data, a RTK base station, Bluetooth, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), antennas, camera wi-fi; these items are constructed and installed on a vehicle to test the road surface. The system maps by GPS and records to the tablet.
